SCARBOROUGH – Earlier this week, D&D Poultry hosted a tour of their processing facility for The Honourable Lisa Thompson, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Among the highlights of the tour was the unveiling of D&D Poultry’s new linear oven, which was partially funded through grants from the Provincial and Federal governments.
“Our family has been running this company for more than twenty years, and we are proud of the service we provide to the food industry,” said Betty Dikeos, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for D&D Poultry. “This latest update to our facility is going to streamline a lot of our processing, and allow us to get more products out to our customers, faster.”
Also present for the tour were local MPP Aris Babikian and Franco Naccarato, Executive Director of Meat & Poultry Ontario. “I’m continually blown away by the strides made by our members in advancing their businesses,” commented Naccarato. “When one business thrives, we all share in that success, and I’m very proud of D&D’s success.”
The tour was organized by GTA Strategies, a business and government relations firm, who were also vital in D&D Poultry obtaining the funding for this latest development. “I’ve known the Dikeos family for a long time now, and I’ve seen firsthand the commitment this family has to their customers and their staff,” commented The Honourable Jim Karygiannis, GTA Strategies principal and former MP for Scarborough-Agincourt. “They’ve come a long way over the years, and I can’t wait to see what they do next.”
