Instead, businesses may increasingly need a\u00a0<strong>two-track strategy: protect and grow their U.S. business while developing customers and partnerships in Europe and other international markets.<\/strong><\/p><h3>What Is The Opposition Saying?<\/h3><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conservative Leader\u00a0<strong>Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party have raised concerns about Canadian sovereignty<\/strong> and are calling for details of any negotiations.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They have questioned whether a future arrangement could affect Canadian control over taxation, regulation, immigration and other domestic policies.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The government argues that closer cooperation with Europe would instead strengthen Canada&#8217;s economic security and ability to diversify.<\/p><h3>What Does This Mean For Canadians?<\/h3><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A deeper relationship could eventually create additional opportunities for Canadians to\u00a0<strong>study, conduct research, work and build businesses in Europe<\/strong>.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, Canadians would\u00a0<strong>not automatically become EU citizens or receive unrestricted rights to live and work throughout Europe<\/strong>.
