Ontario has\u00a0immediately expanded the Protect Ontario Financing Program (POFP)<\/strong> to businesses hit by the new 50% U.S. Section 338 tariffs<\/strong>, effective August 22, 2026.<\/span><\/p>

If tariffs are putting pressure on your cash flow, sales, production or workforce<\/strong>, your business may qualify for provincial support.<\/span><\/p>

What\u2019s Available<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>

Protect Ontario Financing Program \u2014 Up to $1 Billion<\/span><\/strong>
Financing to help tariff-affected businesses cover critical operating costs, including payroll, leases and utilities<\/strong>. Eligibility now includes businesses impacted by the new Section 338 tariffs, as well as Section 232 tariffs affecting steel, aluminum, copper and automobiles<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>

Ontario is also providing:<\/span><\/p>

  • $150M Ontario Together Trade Fund<\/span><\/strong> \u2014 supports SMEs investing, expanding and diversifying into new Canadian and international markets.<\/span><\/li>
  • $40M Trade-Impacted Communities Program<\/span><\/strong> \u2014 supports industries and communities particularly exposed to tariffs.<\/span><\/li>
  • Ontario Made Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit<\/span><\/strong> \u2014 tax relief for qualifying manufacturing and processing investments.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
