Toronto<\/strong> \u2013\u00a0<\/span>Last month, the International Peace Festival organized and hosted their yearly event to commemorate the United Nations\u2019 Day International Day of Peace. The week-long program included film screenings and musical performances, panel discussions, and art exhibitions, and concluded with the Global Peace Ambassadors Gala in support of McMaster Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis event has been growing exponentially since its inception, and I couldn\u2019t be happier with the turnout that we had this year,\u201d commented Angelique Codina, International Peace Festival\u2019s Executive Vice-President. \u201cOur entire team is to be commended on the outstanding work that they did to bring this festival together, and the success that we had is the direct result of their dedication.\u201d<\/p>\n

The opening ceremonies of the festival were held at Toronto City Hall, and were attended by numerous foreign dignitaries, as well as members of all three levels of Canadian government. The Ambassadors Gala was capped off by an awards ceremony, where representatives from multiple nations were on-hand to present achievement awards to the winning film from each continent.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s festival was co-organized by GTA Strategies, a business and government relations firm, who provided logistical support and facilitated VIP attendance. \u201cThis kind of event is what Toronto is all about,\u201d said GTA Strategies principal Jeremy Beamer. \u201cWe are the second most multicultural city on the planet, and I can\u2019t think of a better place to have an event like this, that brings together people from all over the world to share in a common goal.\u201d<\/p>\n
