06 Nov Canada Summer Jobs
Canada Summer Jobs is a part of the federal government’s commitment to help young people gain employment information, skills and experience.
The program provides wage subsidies to private-sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees, employers from not-for-profit organizations, and the public sector. Through Canada Summer Jobs employers are encouraged to create quality summer work experiences for young people between the ages of 15 and 30. It provides youth with opportunities to develop and improve their skills, responds to national and local priorities, and improves access to the labour market for youth, including those who face barriers to employment.
Not-for-profit employers can receive a wage subsidy up to 100% of the current provincial or territorial minimum hourly wage. Whereas public and private sector employers are eligible to receive a wage subsidy of up to 50% of the current provincial or territorial minimum hourly wage.
The annual Call for Applications for the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program will be launched during the week of November 20th, 2023, and will end on January 10, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific time).
